The Opportunity:
This team delivers services to Western Australia’s largest LNG facilities. As part of the

Maintenance and Support team, this position will offer the ideal opportunity to learn a special trade,

becoming responsible for keeping the communications and electronic systems working effectively and efficiently. This is a residential position based in the township of Onslow working the O&G Plant.

Applicants who have completed their first year of the apprenticeship and undertaken their HUET certification will have the opportunity to provide some limited ad hoc support on the Wheatstone offshore platform.

**Responsibilities**:

- Inspections of equipment (e.g. PAGA speakers, CCTV cameras, fans, filters, antennas, cables, terminations, junction boxes)
- Coverage surveys (radio system coverage and PAGA system coverage)
- Redundancy/failover testing - to ensure that systems fail over to backup systems
- Function testing - to ensure that the systems continue to operate as required
- Communications cabling including fibre optics installation, terminations, splicing and testing
- Adhere to stringent site safety, permit, and environmental principles
- Support the on-site technicians in performing preventative, corrective and break/fix maintenance
- activities across the operational sites
- Update check sheets
- Update computer-based records
- Return all tools, test equipment and spares to store

Experience in each of the following systems will be learned
- Safety Systems (PAGA, Access control, E-mustering, CCTV)
- Radio Systems (DGPS, Tetra, VHF, WIMAX, Microwave)

About you:
Skills & Education

The mínimal education level required must be sufficient for entry to the Midland TAFE course. This includes:
Year 12 Completion (WACE Certificate)

OR

C Grades in Year 10 English and Maths

OR

Certificate I or Certificate II

The following skills and certifications will be provided as part of the training.
- Certificate III Telecommunications
- First Aid and LV Rescue
- Registered ACMA Cabling license with structured and coax endorsements
- Working Safely at Heights - Elevated Work Platform
- Gas Test Atmospheres
- Confined Space training
- TBOSIET (Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training)
