A family-owned cereal and cotton farm near Pittsworth in southern Queensland has a fulltime position available for a Farm Machinery Operator.

Reporting to the owner, your duties include operating modern GPS guided Ag machinery, mechanical, workshop and general maintenance. Both cereal machinery and cotton machinery skills are preferred. A minimum HR licence and the ability to rapidly acquire an MC licence, and a Chemcert are also preferred.

The position is best suited to a worker with initiative and good communication skills who enjoys working alone and as part of a team in a safe environment, who would like to continuously develop their Ag machinery skills and experience and take on more responsibility over time. If you have and HR licence and have worked on a cereal cropping farm and would like to learn cotton skills or have and HR licence and previously worked on a cotton farm and would like to learn cereal cropping skills, the farmer will teach you.

The position is paid by the hour reflecting your experience and comes with a house with easy access to town, electricity, and a work ute. The school bus runs to local primary and high schools, and weekly shopping, health, sports, and recreation are available in Pittsworth, with everything else you need just up the road in Toowoomba.

- Some local truck driving

SKILLS & QUALITIES
- An enjoyment of farming and a desire to settle in
- Previous cereal or cotton cropping knowledge and experience
- GPS Ag machinery experience
- Mechanical, workshop & general maintenance skills
- Minimum HR truck licence preferred
- Chemical accreditation preferred
- Safe working & physical fitness
- Teamworking & communication skills
