As an Aged Care Assistant, you will provide compassionate support and assistance to elderly individuals in a residential aged care facility. You will work under the supervision of registered nurses and other healthcare professionals to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of the residents. Your primary responsibility will be to provide basic care services and engage in meaningful interactions with the elderly, promoting their independence and quality of life.

Some of your responsibilites:

- Assist with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide mobility support and help residents with transfers and exercises.
- Aid in medication management by reminding and assisting residents with their medications.
- Support residents during meal times and monitor their dietary needs.
- Engage in compassionate conversations and provide emotional support to residents.
- Monitor residents' safety and report any changes or incidents.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in residents' living areas.
- Plan and participate in recreational activities and social events.
- Accurately document residents' care-related information.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide holistic care.

Qualifications:

- Completed High School
- Prior experience or training in aged care or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
- Compassionate and empathetic nature, with a genuine desire to support and care for elderly individuals. **(This is a must)**:

- Good communication skills to interact effectively with residents, their families, and the healthcare team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that involve lifting, bending, and assisting with mobility.
- Reliable and trustworthy, maintaining confidentiality and respecting residents' privacy.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

**Salary**: From $35.00 per hour
