**How you will make a difference**
The Work Health Safety Manger is passionate about leading and influencing a safety culture and building relationships with stakeholders.
Under the direction of the Director People and Capability, you will lead a team to provide expert advice, guidance, and support to all levels within Parliament including staff, executives, Members of Parliament, and their Electorate Officers.
This role is perfect for someone who has track record of success in the delivery of WHS services and the provision of authoritative advice, internal consultancy, and innovative solutions in a complex organisation.
Using your experience, you will also be tasked with managing the Department of Parliamentary Services' WHS systems and responsibilities and practices, including Incident Management, Emergency Management, and WorkCover.
**About you**
- A demonstrated expertise in the provision in the leadership and management of WHS services, including providing internal advice/consultancy and the delivery of innovative solutions
- Demonstrated experience within safety/security operations within large and complex organisations
- High level of communication, influencing, diplomacy, advocacy, engagement, and interpersonal skills with an ability to provide internal consultancy to a diverse range of clients and stakeholders
- Extensive experience in leading, managing, developing, coaching, and mentoring a high functioning service delivery team in a changing environment
- Evidence of guiding, coaching, and modelling behaviours as a trusted advisor and advocate that is consistent with Parliament's values combined with an ability to contribute to and work cohesively with a high performing management team
- Knowledge of safe work practices & systems, workplace health & safety and fire safety operations and equipment
- Committed to self-directed learning and ongoing professional development and access to and development of industry networks to keep abreast of emerging WHS risks and trends.
- A relevant qualification in Work Health and Safety or relevant work experience
