Apprentice Boilermaker

First Line Engineering Pty Ltd are currently seeking to undertake a dedicated Apprentice Boilermaker. This position currently offers full-time hours, Monday to Friday, with weekends available. The apprenticeship entails both theoretical and practical training and typically takes three to four years to complete. As an Apprentice Boilermaker, you will be responsible for assisting with the fabrication and maintenance of structural steel components and other metalwork.

TASKS INVOLVED:

- Perform medium to heavy structural steel fabrication.
- Perform routine welding using multiple techniques.
- Carry out mechanical cutting and grinding.
- General labouring.
- Examine detailed drawings or specifications to find out job, material, and equipment requirements.
- Cut, roll, shape, bend, mould, spin, heat, or hammer metal products to fabricate parts or sub-assemblies.
- Set-up and/or operate hand and machine tools, welding equipment.
- Assemble parts and structures by lining up and joining them by welding, bolting, or riveting.
- Attend trade school/Tafe.
- Maintain a clean workshop.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA:

- Genuine interest in gaining a trade qualification (Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication).
- Sound literacy and numeracy skills. Enjoys technical activities.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Good hand-eye co-ordination, patience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work safely.
- Ability to work overtime when requested.
- Physically Fit. Strength to handle materials, tools, and machines.
- Willingness to learn and commit to completing an apprenticeship program.

QUALIFICATION AND LICENSES REQUIRED
- Currently must hold a Queensland Manual Drivers Licence and have their own mode of transport.
- Construction White Card.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent

**Salary**: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
