**The role**:
Opportunity for a **Materials Manager** to join our team based in Carrington. Reporting to the Program Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient management of Technical Stores and supply support activities associated with our Mine Hunter Vessels. This position reports to the MHC Program Manager and requires a skilled individual who can lead a team, maintain quality and compliance standards, and drive operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, lead, and control the Technical Stores and supply support operations.
- Provide direction, coaching, and support to individual team members and the entire team.
- Foster a collaborative and productive team environment, promoting teamwork across the program.
- Maintain a safe working environment with a focus on Technical Stores compliance, access control, and cleanliness.
- Ensure the competence and sustainability of Technical Stores resources to meet project objectives in safety, schedule, quality, and cost.
- Manage quality control and documentation processes, contributing to continuous improvement.
- Lead warehousing and distribution teams, ensuring timely provision of materials.
- Develop and maintain efficient operational methods and systems, including receiving, handling, transportation, storing, accounting, and issuing of materials.
- Oversee inventory processes such as goods inwards, inspection, stores, and materials distribution.
- Collaborate closely with Asset Management, Engineering, and Workshops General Managers to support the Marine Fleet annual work program.
- Ensure compliance with security policies
**How about you**:
- Minimum of Diploma-level qualifications.
- Minimum of five years of post-graduate experience in material control systems, receiving/distribution systems, or fiscal management in Supply Chain or related fields.
- Proven experience in supply support and integrated logistics within a defence environment.
- Knowledge of defence inventory and supply chain management is highly desirable.
- Tertiary qualifications in Management and/or Project Management are a plus.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing software.
