**CAKE DECORATOR - VANILLA BAKEHOUSE**

Vanilla Lounge in vibrant Eaton Mall, Oakleigh is one of Melbourne’s renowned destinations for Greek casual dining, special events, desserts and coffee.

We are a family run business with more than 45 years’ experience in the hospitality industry. We have recently renovated our casual dining space to reflect a modern atmosphere for our customers to enjoy 7 days a week, dining from early morning to late at night.

The Vanilla family is expanding and are seeking highly talented and experienced Pasty Chefs/Cake Decorators to support our Bakehouse team and continue to create and deliver beautiful specialty cakes, biscuits and sweets.

**A day in this role at Vanilla Bakehouse will include**:

- Decorating cakes for various occasions including weddings, birthdays etc
- Cut, fill and decorate with buttercream
- Decorate cakes to a high standard
- Following daily production procedures
- Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment
- Upholding hygiene and food safety standards.

**We’re looking for someone who has**:

- **Extensive Experience using Buttercream and Fondant**:

- Demonstrate experience (5years +) with specialist knowledge in a high functioning pastry kitchen
- Show a high-level of creativity with a strong attention to detail
- Demonstrate techniques applicable to specialty cakes
- Exceptional skills when working with Buttercream and Fondant
- The ability to work autonomously and alongside a cohesive team
- Highly reliable with the ability to work calmly in a fast-paced environment
- Applicants must have the ability to work well in a team environment, whilst contributing their ideas with a positive attitude
- You must have the right to work in Australia

**Job Types**: Full-time, Casual

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 38 per week

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Supplementary Pay:

- Overtime pay

**Experience**:

- Cake decorating: 3 years (required)
