Pegasus Care is excited to announce a new Supported Independent Living project in the **Hunter, Newcastle Area.** We are seeking suitably experienced staff with a range of skills required to support two men in their mid-60’s to live independently in a Supported Independent Living property located in **Cameron Park NSW**.

The successful applicant will have experience with working with people with **mobility challenges** including supporting people to use walkers or manual wheelchairs. Previous experience supporting persons with brain injury, history of AOD and/or experience supporting persons with Huntington’s Disease or other degenerative conditions is highly valued.

**You will have a positive, non-confrontational person-centred attitude with the ability to provide personal care in an engaging and respectful manner.**

You could also be offered work to support our existing clients at our other locations in Cameron Park or Thornton NSW. As a result, previous experience with psychosocial disability, challenging behaviours, neurodiversity and/or trauma-informed care is a bonus.

We need someone who is **reliable,** motivated, flexible, who takes initiative, **are self-aware**, engaging, great communicators, team players, willing to learn and be mentored.

**Ongoing training is provided.**

The role requires staff to be available to work a **24/7 roster** which will include weekend and public holidays, and, overnight sleepover shifts and will become available in the next 2-3 weeks.

**The successful applicant must be able to show experience in some or all of the following:

- Previous sector experience
- Huntington’s Disease and/or other degenerative conditions
- Experience with Cognitive Impairments
- Provision of Personal Care
- Provision of Community Access
- Implementation of Individual Goals, Plans, Routines
- 100 points of ID
- NSW Drivers Licence, a Reliable vehicle with Comprehensive Insurance
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- The right to work in Australia
- Current NSW Working With Children Check
- Current National Police Check
- Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
- Completed NDIS Worker Induction Module - Quality, Safety & You
- NDIS on-line training "Supporting Safe & Enjoyable Meals"
- Infection Control Training - COVID-19 Certificate (or similar)
- Evidence of Vehicle Registration
- Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $40.26 - $41.53 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 30 per week

- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- Night shift
- Public holidays
- Shift work
- Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:
