**The Opportunity**

The Contracts Manager is the primary contract performance assurance provider to the Austal ISS business unit. The role ensures adequate business rules, processes and systems are in place, manages identified risks and controls and maximises financial opportunities within the boundaries of contractual T&C’s across all delivery functions to deliver best practice contract performance.

- Drive governance, assurance, and best practices across all contracts.
- Develop and maintain a contract reporting framework and dashboards.
- Lead continuous improvement by collaborating with stakeholders to implement change initiatives and innovative business solutions that improve productivity and efficiency for Austal and our customers.
- Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from initiation to execution, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Collaborate with Legal, Finance, Operations, and other departments to develop and negotiate contracts that align with business goals.
- Manage and mentor a team of contract professionals, providing leadership, guidance, and development opportunities.
- Conduct thorough contract reviews, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies.
- Manage contract databases and tracking systems to maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
- Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on contract terms, conditions, and interpretation.

**You’ll need**

**_ Essential_**
- Australian Citizenship (required to obtain Baseline Security Clearance).
- Proven understanding of contract management principles and practices.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Law, or Commerce.
- Contract Management Qualification (e.g., IACCM, CIPS, or equivalent).
- Strong experience in negotiation and conflict resolution, with well-developed influencing and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership while building and maintaining strong working relationships across teams and departments.
- Hold a valid Construction Safety Induction (White Card).

**_ Desirable_**
- Thorough understanding of CASG (Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group) contract mechanisms.
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Supply Chain.
- Experience in supply chain management.
- Proven understanding of project management principles.
