The Opportunity
Boeing Defence Australia's Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) Capability provides skilled people, know-how, process and tools to manage system requirements, design, performance and test for program execution and growth opportunities. The team also develops integrated technical roadmaps, people plans and diversity and inclusion initiatives to meet the evolving need of our customers, both in Australia and internationally.
Due to significant growth, the SEIT Capability is looking for energetic people to lead some of our emerging teams in various programs across the country. As a part of this role you will join the BDA SEIT team and will bring a strong focus on fostering a positive culture and support the growth and development of our team members and systems they work with. You can be based in Brisbane, Newcastle or Adelaide to conduct this role.
Multiple roles available across all Systems Engineering disciplines from Architecture and Requirements through Integration, Verification and Validation. You'll be managing a team of around 25 people in size.
**Responsibilities**:
- Contribute to the open, inclusive and innovative team culture that we have
- Set up strong development and knowledge sharing frameworks that encouraging your team to grow
- Actively engage with your team and support them on their career journey identifying progression and development opportunities
- Work with others to understand business needs and manage your team to meet multiple project requirements within in a matrix organisation environment
- Contribute to the business growth strategy and technical roadmaps
Experience/Qualifications
- Have led a team before, providing guidance to your team members for their growth, development and success
- As you will be leading a team of engineers and technical professionals, experience in a technical domain will certainly assist you in being successful in this role. You do not need to be an engineer but a technical background is what we are after
- Team orientated, dynamic, innovative and like to think outside the square
- An advocate for diversity and inclusion and will be actively involved in implementing change initiatives to achieve our diversity goals
- An excellent communicator who can engage, influence and motivate diverse and geographically dispersed teams from various engineering disciplines
- Exposure to model-based systems engineering would be highly regarded
