**Salary**: 82,000-86,000 per annum

The Irish Australian Support Association of Queensland is seeking a dedicated and skilled **outreach worker **to join our dynamic team. This position is critical to our operations and requires a professional with a strong background case management, needs assessment and working with vulnerable people within a community setting. This role provides a dual purpose of providing quality outreach, referral and support service for people accessing IASAQ services.

**Key Responsibilities**:
The role will provide initial assessment, case planning, referral and support services as required in a broad range of client requirements such as mental health, financial, domestic and family violence, substance abuse, legal and other subsequent related issues. It is expected that ongoing client support and case management will be a feature of the service ensuring outward referrals are successful in meeting current and ongoing client issues.

As part of the role, it is expected the applicant will organise and facilitate fortnightly Mother and Baby groups here at the IASAQ office and offsite at times with the support of our Volunteers. Experience or the ability to facilitate and source activities for such groups would be an advantage.

**Required Skills and Experience**:

- A minimum qualification of a sector recognised and accredited Degree or Diploma in Social Work, Social Science, Humanities, Community Welfare Work or equivalent. (Qualifications must be approved by recognised professional bodies: i.e. AASW, ACWA, Community Services Council, APS etc.)
- A demonstrated ability to foster a positive, respectful and inclusive workplace.
- A demonstrated commitment to continuous quality assurance strategies within the Human Services Sector.
- A positive Working with Children Suitability Card/ Blue card.
- Current Queensland driver’s license.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Must have working rights in Australia

The Irish Australian Support Association of Queensland is a non-for-profit organisation based in Brisbane. Our core mandate is to ensure that the Irish diaspora feel supported in times of isolation, vulnerability and crisis. The ORSP will ensure that people who are vulnerable and in crisis can be supported and have access to appropriate services in their community with the ORSP providing the initial and ongoing support.

The ORSP will connect with community and statutory organisations to build a collaborative network of referral and professional service delivery ensuring Irish people have access to appropriate and quality services to address their issues. The role will provide initial and ongoing support for the client as they are referred to more the appropriate agencies in the community.
