The Victim Support Reform Projects team leads work to design and deliver the Queensland Government's victim support reforms and commitments. This includes projects to:
Ensure that victims of crime from across Queensland are appropriately and proactively supported and provided with the upmost support and humanity.
Develop a professional victim advocacy service for victims of crime in Queensland, in consultation with key stakeholders and victims to ensure it is practical and makes a real difference.
Explore place-based models of trauma recovery and healing.
As Manager in the Victim Support Reform Projects team, you will lead a small project team to achieve project milestones and deliverables across a range of priority victim support projects. You will have responsibility for providing leadership, design, implementation and evaluation of priority projects.
**Role specific/technical skills**:
You will have demonstrated experience leading a high performing team to deliver priority reform projects. This role may have up to 4 direct reports.
Skills and experience in program and project management would be highly regarded.
You will be also required to engage with a broad range of stakeholders including with victims, advocates and non-government service providers. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required, and experience leading consultation processes would be desirable.
Knowledge or ability to rapidly build knowledge of the criminal justice system and support services for victims would be regarded in this role.
**As Manager, you will specifically**:
Provide leadership and management of a small project team to develop, design and implement reform projects, ensuring effective and high quality, innovative and practical responses to strategic and operational priorities identified by government.
Oversee, co-ordinate and monitor key aspects of the projects' plans and governance, including the interface with various connecting projects across government and ensure the reform projects deliver the required outcomes.
Represent the department, collaborate and negotiate with other government departments, other levels of government and the non-government sector, where applicable, to ensure reform projects are fit for purpose.
Provide high quality, strategic advice to the Director Victim Support Reform on issues relating to designing, operationalising and evaluating a Victims Advocate Service for Queensland, and other reform projects to better support victims.
Lead and supervise a small high performing team, providing direction, feedback and contributing to a positive work environment.
