Transport Allocator Wanted

Our client; a National Leader in the Recycling Services is seeking **a TRANSPORT ALLOCATOR** OPERATOR **to join their growing team based in BLACKTOWN.

Blacktown Location. **Permanent full time position**

remuneration will be base on experience and will be between $85 - $87k + super

The successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating the smooth running of the Fleet movements by using a TMS system.

Monday to Friday 6AM to 3PM

**Key Purpose**:Responsible for directing, managing and coordinating logistics, transfer, transportation and customer service activities, achieving excellence in all facets of transport allocation and weighbridge operations safely, effectively and efficiently decreasing accidents and errors and increasing profits.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assisting with efficiently coordinating and allocating trips for drivers locally
- Ensures safe work practices and equipment are used at all times and that documentation, inspections, and current practices are in accordance with Sell and Parker Safety Management Plan, policies, procedures and other regulatory guidelines.
- Promote, maintain and continually improve workplace safety programs ensure safe work conditions exist for all employees, customers and visitors.
- Ensure safe work practices are adhered to by employees, contractors, customers and visitors.
- Respond to emergency situations on an on-call basis.
- Ensure the requirements of the relevant WHS and Workers Compensation legislation, regulations and Codes of Practice are followed where assistance required escalate to Group WHS Manager and Group Health and Wellbeing and Fitness for Work Manager.
- Ensure environmental work practices are adhered to.
- Monitor the environmental impact of the facility, and report to your manager any potential adverse impacts.
Production
- Plan and allocate transfer scheduling and driver runs on a daily basis for the pickup and delivery of material ensuring full utilization of fleet.
- Plan staffing requirements to fulfil transfer requirements.
- Coordinate and monitor management systems to ensure most efficient use of drivers and vehicle’s to meet set schedules.
- Ensuring drivers are aware of, and comply with, specific customer site and material requirements.
- Monitor machinery needs and oversee planned maintenance of vehicles and make future recommendations based on the needs of the organization.
- Assigns rosters for employees under his/her direct supervision in order to run efficiently, at optimal transfers, with mínimal overtime.
- Assigns daily duties for drivers, contract drivers and weighbridge operators. Ensure transport division and weighbridges are adequately staffed, in conjunction ensure successful planning to combat natural attrition, including cross training employees in the yard operations, that in the event of absenteeism, there is enough “back up” to perform normal production.
- Develop, implement and monitor inductions and on-boarding plans for new employees.
- Completion of Probationary Reviews within designated timeframe, where employee identified as requiring improvement escalates to Management.
- Identify non-performance, in conjunction with Management and implement and monitor performance improvement.
- Adhere to RTW Plans for employees on Workers Compensation, ensure immediate notification to Group Health Wellbeing and Fitness for Work Manager regarding any events/ matters that may impact on plan, stay abreast of appointments and monitor work environment to ensure return to pre-injury duties.
- Prepares and monitors daily production reports to continuously improve throughput, reduce costs/expenses and increase profitability and maximum metal recovery.
- Implements operational goals based on monthly projections set by management.
- On time and accurate completion of monthly and yearly stock takes.

**Skills & Experience**:

- Previous experience as a Transport Allocator is essential
- Demonstrated experience in the Transport Industry **(Highly desirable)**:

- Proven background in Local fleet allocations is essential****:

- Excellent Communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to lead, direct, encourage others towards achieving results
- Sound working knowledge of, Fatigue Management and the Roads and Maritime Services is essential
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Ability to priorities and work under pressure
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
