Apprentice Fitter

**Position Summary**
Nestlé is seeking an Apprentice Fitter and Turner to join our team in the Gympie Factory where Nestlé makes our iconic coffee brands **NESCAFÉ** and **INTERNATIONAL** **ROAST**. This is a fantastic trade career opportunity for those with a strong interest in fitting and turning. During the 4-year Apprenticeship, you will undertake on-the-job, and formal training with an RTO to complete the trade accreditation - MEM30219 Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Maintenance) Fitting and/or Turning.

The tasks that you may undertake as a fitter and turner include:

- Diagnosing and repairing faults with tools and machinery, general maintenance of manufacturing equipment, and onsite maintenance fitting.
- Interpreting engineering diagrams, drawings, specifications, and plans to determine suitable material and sequence of operations
- Operating various machinery including lathes, mills, and welding plant
- Performing computations and interacting with computing/digital technology
- Planning, organising, performing, and reporting on maintenance engineering tasks
- Welding, cutting, and grinding of various materials
- Assembling fabricated parts

- Safe work ethics and an understanding of quality assurance
- Previous experience, training, or interest in fitting & turning or mechanical maintenance
- Good communication skills with a flexible can-do attitude
- Ability to work in a team and autonomously
- Pride in their work and attention to detail
- Manual dexterity and normal colour vision
