Mgr, 2nd Line Control Testing

**About the role**

In this role, you will independently assess the operating effectiveness of key controls owned by the 1st Line and where required raising findings in relation to the test activity and act as a Competence Centre with regard to controls and control testing, (proactively) advising the 1st and 2nd LoD on control related themes.

More specifically, your key responsibilities will include:

- Implement the Operational Risk Control Framework as part of the Risk Control Framework (RCF) Program, including supporting the formation and build-up of the new Control Assurance capability
- Work with the Head of Operational Risk AU & NZ and Head of WRR 2nd Line Testing to develop and implement the Annual 2nd Line Control Assurance Plan
- Liaise with key stakeholders to determine the design effectiveness of key controls
- Educate and coach the 1st Line Control Owners and other stakeholders on the effective design Controls
- Identify opportunities for improvement in the 1st Line owned controls
- Assist to complete 2nd Line reports to Boards, Committees, Group, Management and Business Units as required

**To be successful you will have**:

- Relevant work experience in control testing, process/risk management, gained from within a financial services environment
- Experience in Audit and/or with testing for regulatory frameworks
- An understanding of banking and finance operations, Operational Risk Management within the financial services industry and related regulatory standards (Basel II and APRA Prudential Standards)
- Strong knowledge of causes, influences and drivers of operational risk
- Excellent knowledge of control testing and control frameworks (i.e. Internal Audit, SOX, Volcker, 2nd Line Control testing or similar)
- Attention to detail and an ability to produce high quality, accurate property appraisals
