**Job Description Summary**

We are looking for meter readers to join the team. Calling people from all locations
- The meter readers role is to provide accurate and timely reads for water meters and transcribe the information correctly into the company supplied Hand Held Device.

**About the role**:

- To read the meters on allocated routes accurately and in a timely manner.
- To be able to read all types of water meters installed at a property.
- Ensure no reads are kept to a mínimal and if above the average, need to try and obtain more reads
- Ensure No Read codes & Comment codes are entered for every no read
- Ensure Comment codes are entered for every high/low reading, nil consumption and new meters
- Ensure new locations, grid references and warnings are updated on the Hand Held Device.
- Leave completed ‘Self Reading Cards’ for customers when access to the meter cannot be obtained or when the meter cannot be located.
- To work in conjunction with all other meter reading personnel to ensure that all the client’s meters are read within the KPI timeframes.
- Advise Operation Managers East or West of any sequencing issues.
- To develop and maintain good customer relations avoiding any confrontation.
- To correctly wear and use all Personal Protective Equipment supplied by the company or the client.
- To carry the Sydney Water ID card at all times and to produce for customer verification, when challenged, prior to access to property.
- Report potential hazards and safety issues to the Account Manager.

- Articulate and live the C&W culture, set an example by modelling the required behaviours and hold others (employees and peers) accountable for their actions by identifying and acting on behaviour which is inconsistent with agreed standards.
- Comply with all C&W systems used to meet its health and safety obligations.
- Work safely and not put themselves or anyone else’s health or safety at risk by their acts or omissions.
- Comply with C&W Environmental policies, and adhere to procedures and work instructions that are relevant to their activities.
- Operate in a manner that will minimise any adverse environmental impacts associated with their activities

**About You**:

- Sound knowledge of all areas / Suburbs of Sydney
- Able to walk a minimum of 20kms per day (7-8hrs)
- Sound knowledge of meter reading functions and meters.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Current unrestricted NSW Driving Licence and a reliable vehicle
