**About the role**
Put your passion to purpose and join a truly diverse and unique team Reporting to the Manager, Multicultural Support Services, North based at our spacious and modern Mirrabooka office on a casual basis, you will be the vital conduit of communication, providing critical support to our refugee and migrant multicultural clients, and the Case workers who support them to achieve their personal and professional goals within our programs.
This is a fantastic opportunity to provide high quality culturally informed support, mentorship and education to clients from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds (Dari, Tigrinya, Chin, Karen). You will support the facilitation of group education workshops and presentations, suggest referrals for services as appropriate, ensure documentation is completed to regulatory standards and deal with incidents that may arise from time to time effectively and in a timely manner.
**About you**
You’ll have a passion for empowering and enabling people from refugee backgrounds to achieve their personal and professional goals, overcoming any limiting beliefs or barriers on their journey.
Your resilience and energy are infectious and you have the ability to build authentic, meaningful relationships that enable the provision of an optimal support service to the client and other internal and external stakeholders in an often emotive environment.
You will also have:
- Preferred language/cultural background from either; Dari, Tigrinya, Chin, Karen
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role working in a community engagement or community education
- Understanding of issues related to refugees and migrants who experienced trauma and displacement.
- Ability to assist with creche as required.
- Certificate III Community Services or experience in relevant field.
- Drivers License
- Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- National Police Clearance (obtained within the last six months)
