Trainee Lawyer

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
Kyard Business Law is a boutique commercial law firm based in Ringwood that was established in 2007. We act for small and medium businesses in a broad range of industries and at all stages during the business lifecycle.

We only accept work from businesses and do not do conveyancing, wills and probate, criminal law, or family law.

We have an opening for a trainee lawyer who would be principally involved in commercial litigation but who would also have exposure and involvement in commercial transactions such as leases and sales of businesses, particularly during their first year with the firm.

The role is for a full-time permanent position with reasonable flexibility as to office hours and working from home, however we would be willing to offer the position on a part-time basis if this was preferable for the successful applicant.

The successful applicant will:

- Be imminently commencing, currently undertaking, or have recently completed their Practical Legal Training.
- Have an interest in client advocacy work as demonstrated by participation in University mooting competitions, community legal service volunteering, or similar.
- Be open and willing to assist and be involved in a wide range of litigation and commercial law matters.
- Have excellent time management skills and experience working both in a team and in a self-directed manner.
