The unit head is responsible for ensuring that the Social Work service at Bulli and Coledale Hospital is provided to patients, clients, consumers and their family/carers with optimal health outcomes consistent with ISLHD policies, procedures, standards, relevant legislation, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. This position has professional links with other social workers across the community in the Illawarra.

The unit head is responsible for ensuring that day to day operations are delivered in the most effective and efficient manner, and that the performance of staff within the unit is of the highest professional and clinical guidelines. The unit head works with the Social Work Head of Discipline to facilitate the implementation of ISLHD and discipline specific business activities, fulfil reporting requirements, undertake Personal Effectiveness and Development (PED) plans and enhance service development.

This position will work across Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, handing over to a job share for Monday and Tuesday. The position holder will spend time at both Bulli and Coledale hospitals.

**A little about us.**

Bulli Hospital, located on Dharawal Country, provides inpatient, outpatient and allied health services, as well as the Urgent Care Centre, for the northern Illawarra. The Urgent Care Centre provides treatment for minor injury and illness. The nurse-led model of care enables patients to be seen and assessed by specialist nurses who, in consultation with medical teams, deliver treatment and management plans for patients.

Situated just a short drive from the stunning Bulli Beach and the scenic Illawarra Escarpment, the hospital not only provides essential health services but also offers a tranquil and beautiful environment for both patients and staff.

Coledale Hospital, located on Dharawal Country, is a 45-bed facility specialising in aged care and rehabilitation services for the northern Illawarra. The hospital has a purpose-built unit for patients with a dementia illness awaiting nursing home placement, and is fully accredited by the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards.

Located near the pristine Coledale Beach and surrounded by lush landscape, Coledale Hospital offers a peaceful and therapeutic setting for recovery. There's also the chance to see whales or dolphins from the hospital grounds during migration season.
