**About the company**

You will be working for a Local Government authority in the inner northern suburbs. This is a great opportunity to work with an excellent council giving you the chance to broaden your local government experience and knowledge. The organisation take pride in looking after their staff’s well-being.

This is a part-time position & you will be either working 2 or 3 days per week. The council are operating in an operating hybrid model. The position is to start ASAP.

**Your key responsibilities include**:

- Manage Council’s obligations under Freedom of Information legislation
- As Council’s Freedom of Information Officer, administer and respond to all FOI requests, develop, and promote guidelines, and prepare all legislative reports and registers
- Be accountable for Council’s obligations under Freedom of Information
- Implement Council’s obligations under the Freedom of Information Act 1982 including appearances before the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal
- Prepare and sign external correspondence in relation to freedom of information

**You will have the following**:

- A thorough knowledge of legislation and regulations freedom of information
- Ability to analyse and interpret legislative and policy documents.
- Previous experience in managing FOI requests
- Ideally previous experience working for a Local Government
