To continue our success an exciting opportunity has become available for a **Junior** **Draftsperson. **We are an early careers Draftsperson to join our Critical Infrastructure team in **Melbourne**. As a Junior Draftsperson, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering engineering projects, utilising your knowledge and expertise to create innovative solutions that influence the infrastructure and energy sectors across the Asia-Pacific region.

**In this role you will be -**
- Under supervision from more senior employees, undertaking professional technical tasks of varied scope and complexity.
- Operating within practices and procedures covered by precedents or well-defined policies and/or standards.
- Acquiring training and broadening experience to become qualified for more senior responsibilities.
- Producing accurate 3D Models and 2D drawings for mechanical engineering projects within BMT including mining machinery, rail rolling stock, and port machinery
- Supporting the Coast Engineering division, namely civil/structural engineering
- Actively maintaining pro-active communication with relevant engineers and/or project managers to ensure client milestones are met
- Assisting in maintaining drafting standards, documentation and systems (as aligned to our QMS)
- Visiting BMT offices and/or undertake site visits to support drafting activities
- Communicating with engineers and/or scientists incorporating knowledge gained into drawings
- Preparing, reviewing and redrafting alongside the engineering team

**Relevant Education, Experience, and Skills**:
**Essential**:

- Diploma level qualification in engineering or relevant CAD Industry Training.
- Minimum 2 years professional experience in engineering drafting.
- Proficient in operating CAD systems, preferably AutoCAD, Solidworks, Inventor.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to get involved in projects in various sectors.
- Strong team orientation skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of safe work methods.
- Ambitious, hard-working and eager to learn.
- Drivers Licence.

**Desirable**:

- Experience working within the engineering/science consulting sector.
- Experience with mechanical engineering projects such as mining and ports machinery, or rail rolling stock.
- Experience in customer liaison.
- Strong analytical, investigative and design skills.
