Description and Requirements

This role is what every OSHC Coordinator dreams of This Lead Coordinator role is to manage a large OSHC service in Ashrove, lead a team, be involved in the school community, and build key relationships with the school, families, and children. As an added incentive we are offering a commencement bonus of $2,000 paid at 4 weeks in the role and another $2,000 as a retention bonus paid at 12 months in the role.

About the role

Leading a team of Educators, you will manage a service at Oakleigh State School Helping Hands in the hours before and after school for children aged 5-12 years. You'll have the support of a state specific office, plus regional managers who regularly visit and mentor you at your service.

Develop and facilitate an engaging child-centered program full of exciting experiences such as STEM, sport, cooking, art and craft - whatever you and the children are into
Foster healthy relationships with children, the school, community, and parents
Lead a team of Educators onsite, including roster management
Manage the day-to-day operations of your service including compliance and administration
Ensure quality and compliance in service delivery, and work with your team towards excellent rating and assessment outcomes

About the service

A large service that operates with a Lead Coordinator, 2 Assistant Coordinators, and 8 consistent Educators, this service has a dedicated airconditioned OSHC room and uses multiple other rooms within the school as well. Licensed for 180, this service has room to grow with approximately 35-45 children attending in the morning and 120 in the afternoon.

In addition to paid admin hours every week, every term you also have 3 hours of paid professional development and 2 hours of paid staff meetings. Who are we looking for?

We can teach you about the job and JAG, but a few basics you need to have:
Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children in a leadership position or a similar role
Ideally minimum Diploma qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Diploma in Children’s Services), or have completed minimum 2 years of full time study in a relevant field
Current and valid Working with Children Check, or state required check
Clear and professional communication
