**The Role**
The Commercial and Financial Analysis team sits within the Commercial Division, of the Defence Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG). The team performs a specialist commercial financial analysis function, primarily focused on achieving the best value for money for Defence through the acquisition and sustainment life cycle. Working in support of multi-faceted teams, you will provide commercial, cost and price analysis in support of complex procurement activities. You will support financial analysis as it relates to the evaluation of costing and pricing proposals and provide input to negotiation activities, which achieve value for money for the Commonwealth.

The additional payment is a Building Defence Capability Payment (BDCP) which enables Defence to provide a premium, in addition to the rate of salary otherwise payable under the Enterprise Agreement (EA) to some or all of the jobs within a critical occupation(s) or discipline within a workplace. Applicants engaged into a BDCP position must consider the following. BDCPs provide remuneration in addition to the Defence Enterprise Agreement (EA).

**About our Team**
The Commercial and Financial Analysis team provides commercial and financial analysis to support complex procurement and contracting activities across the entire Defence organization covering all stages of the procurement and contracting life-cycle. The position will provide you with exposure to a diverse internal customer base within cross-functional teams and provide significant opportunity to interact with industry across various industry sectors, including Defence Industry.

We are looking for a Commercial Analyst (Pricing and Costing) to join our team. Your role will be to assist and/or undertake price and cost analysis and cost review activities, including examination, analysis, development and reporting on pricing proposals and tender evaluations. By demonstrating your ability to have good attention to detail, engage in critical thought and be able to solve problems, you will help produce strong commercial financial advice to support improved value for money assessment decision.

You would ideally be able to display strategic financial analytical abilities in a professional commercial situation in addition to having well-developed written and verbal communication skills. Ideally, you are familiar with the fundamentals of contracting and procurement.
