This role provides oversight and guidance to mental health services in the North and West regions of Victoria. You will lead a team responsible for working directly with local acute and community mental health services to ensure Victorians receive safe, timely and high quality mental health treatment and care.
The role seeks a high performing individual with strong leadership, people management, performance management, stakeholder management, problem solving and communication skills. You will be responsible for managing a wide variety of tasks which requires flexibility and adaptability to respond to issues as they emerge. Work includes commissioning services, managing performance issues, collaborating with mental health stakeholders on improvement activities and supporting sector transformation activities in response to the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System.
The role would suit individuals who are self-starters and are comfortable working with unfamiliar and complex issues. The role requires regular engagement with senior internal and external stakeholders, including clinical leaders in the mental health sector.

**Accountabilities**:
- Lead the management of relationships, commissioning, service performance and interfaces with health services and mental health NGOs specifically around performance, access, safety and quality of mental health services.
- Identify, monitor and develop appropriate responses to emerging service delivery issues through development of excellent working relationships with health service executives, stakeholders and mental health services.
- Provide detailed advice, recommendations and program options and solutions to complex and sensitive issues.
- Work in collaboration with a broad range of partners and stakeholders to ensure successful implementation, including engagement at senior levels.
- Model adaptive leadership attributes and the behaviours and attributes of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Division.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
