Job Description Summary

Communications Technician - Field member will form part of the Field Delivery Team working as part of a team or as an individual contributor at times.

The Field Delivery Team will work across multiple work types and clients, reporting into the State Field Delivery Manager.
About the Role

Service Stream’s Telecommunications division are currently seeking a Communications Technician to join our growing company.

Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Berrinba

Reporting Line: State Field Delivery Manager

Key Responsibilities

In this role you will be primarily responsible for Building, Maintaining, and Decommissioning Telecommunication Networks, including but not limited to Optus, Uecomm, NBN, Telstra, TPG, Telco Authorities and Power Utility. You will also be responsible for the following:

- Work onsite/in field as part of one or multiple crews daily
- Willing and able to be part of a rostered-On Call Availability, including working outside normal working hours on a regular basis.
- Willing and able to work away from home from time to time
- Communicate/report on scheduled works changes or to Field Supervisor.
- Participate of actual site start up (i.e., mandatory pre-start activities)
- Works in coordination with related 3rd parties such as landowners and regulatory authorities (e.g., power utility, council & transport).

About You
- Hold a current Driver’s license.
- Construction OH&S Induction Card.
- Hold MR or higher Truck License.
- Experience in an Infrastructure Services environment.
- Experience in the Telecommunications industry.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel & Outlook.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to respond calmly and decisively during a major incident or emergency.
- Ability to work autonomously within teams.
