Clinical Practitioner

**In this role you will**:
- Administer appropriate assessments to prisoners
- Functional assessment of behaviours of concern adversely affecting the adult's quality of life to inform individual management strategies
- Analyse assessment results and record information and utilise assessment information to inform practice
- Effectively communicate with prisoners in relation to assessment results and recommendations
- Develop treatment plans where appropriate
- Ensure maintenance of accurate records and appropriate storage of data relevant to assessments and associated reports
- Provide specialist clinical advice to key stakeholders to assist in the case management of prisoners.
- Provide advice to relevant officers regarding prisoner suitability for programs and/or other interventions.
- Provide advice and collaborate with service providers to ensure prisoner's needs are met.
- In complex cases, develop comprehensive plans to encompass interventions and service providers required.
- Effectively combine knowledge of assessment tools, interventions, supports and environment to inform clinical practice.
- Work collaboratively with Prison Mental Health Services to assist in the effective management of prisoner's mental health needs.
- Promote goal setting and enhance willingness to engage in holistic intervention pathways
- Deliver individual or group based brief, skill acquisition focused interventions aimed at developing coping skills and building resilience
- Ensure prisoner programs and activities are consistent with evidence-based practice
- Monitor progress of prisoners during programs and related activities and report on progress
- Comply with program management procedures, standards and guidelines
- Maintain own level of knowledge of contemporary offender programs research and practices, and legislation, policy and procedures in relation to offender management.
- Provide advice regarding the availability of community based services for the continuation of treatment and/or support upon release
- Promote general and psychological health and wellbeing
- Facilitate relevant programs and activities promoting health and wellbeing
- Maintain knowledge of contemporary practice in relation to health and wellbeing, suicide prevention and anti-bullying.
- Engage in evidence based practice relevant to the prevention of suicide and self-harm behaviour
- Participate in team meetings and other activities within the office
- Ensure the safety and security of self and others
- Ensure the security and confidentiality of QCS property and information.
- Manage one's own time efficiently and effectively
- Ensure one's own personal presentation and behaviour are in accordance with the Agency's Code of Conduct
