**Work type**: Fixed Term

**Location**: South Brisbane

**Categories**: Allied Health

Mater Health is proposing the design and implementation of an organisational framework for consumers experiencing or at-risk of experiencing abuse who engage with Mater staff and services. The proposed Mater Advocacy and Protection Unit (MAP Unit) aims to facilitate the provision of high value care through employing a holistic and coordinated approach to service delivery across Mater’s Queensland-wide facilities, for those experiencing possible Child Protection, Domestic and Family Violence, Sexual Assault, and Modern Slavery concerns. The MAP Unit framework focuses on providing a central and specialised resource to support the awareness, skills and knowledge of clinical and non-clinical staff across multiple levels of the organisation in responding to these at-risk cohorts.

The MAP Unit will involve integrating the policies, procedures, training, education, research and clinical consultation services to provide multimodal, streamlined, evidence based and coordinated responses to these high-risk, vulnerable consumer cohorts who engage with Mater’s health services.

The role of the MAP Unit Project Lead is to identify, review and implement key systems and processes to enable clinical staff to deliver the unit’s core functions including:

- To provide direct clinical advocacy and consultation services to staff, stakeholders and consumers on complex presentations within the Mater health context,
- To deliver a range of multimodal contemporary training and education,
- To develop procedures that support the implementation of risk and compliance activities and preventative measures,
- To embed a research and evaluative framework in order to inform the key functions of the unit and guide contemporary practice including use of data,
- To develop processes to ensure organisational requirements are identified and responded to where they relate to changes in Child Protection, Domestic and Family Violence, Sexual Assault, and Modern Slavery reform including the role of safeguarding.

**Salary range: $67.84 - $70.77 (HP Level 5) per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900**
