Reporting to the Board and working with a dedicated and passionate team, this pivotal role will provide senior regional representation and overarching leadership of the company, both internally and externally. This high profile leadership role is responsible for influencing and nurturing relationships with external stakeholders to deliver sustainable resources and ensure the successful delivery of BIC’s exciting project.
A day in the life of a General Manager might look like this, but every day can be different. Primarily, you will be responsible for:
- Executing the board’s plans for the construction of the facility
- Liasing with builders, financiers, financial advisers, legal advisers, town planners and others to have the project built in accordance with the board’s plans.
- Developing and managing financial budgets in line with expectations of Income and Expenditure
- Driving business development and fundraising initiatives in line with the board’s plans
- Manage and oversee events and fundraising activities
- Initiating, building and nurturing effective on-going relationships with major providers of funding and driving the development of new and enhanced corporate and government support
- Assisting with the development of and communication of the strategic goals and objectives of the company
- Managing the staff and cohort of volunteers involved in the project
- Profiling and representing the organisation positively in the media, and in relevant forums, committees and conferences, consistent with the BIC brand.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Blend of commercial and NFP leadership experience
- Demonstrated people leadership experience
- Previous experience in a similar role or equivalent
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated public speaking and presentation experience
- Proven networking, consultation and relationship management skills
- Strong financial acumen
