Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.

Greater Shepparton City Council is looking to recruit a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join its Civil Infrastructure Maintenance department. This is a fantastic opportunity to come on board as a Works Officer 03 and join our experienced team as a permanent employee. In return, as an employee you will be entitled to a nine-day fortnight, access to staff health and wellbeing programs and extensive professional development.
Council is looking for someone with a positive attitude and is a team player who will take pride in doing the best job they can for the citizens of Greater Shepparton. All Council outdoor staff can perform roles within other work teams from time to time, providing opportunity to gain experience in other areas of work.
This role is within the drainage team who predominately work on Councils drainage infrastructure network and requires the following experience and skills in:
- Drainage
- Pump maintenance
- Penstock maintenance
- CCTV operations
- Traffic control
- Truck licence
