Fleet Allocator

The Fleet Allocator will be responsible for ensuring that consignments are delivered on time in full on a daily basis. This position is key to ensuring high levels of service are maintained and customer expectations are met. The Fleet Allocator will be energetic and passionate about their work and will champion our position in the Healthcare Supply Chain, where we strive to deliver solutions that positively impact patient outcomes. **Your Responsibilities will include but are not limited to**:
- Coordinate a fleet of contract drivers across NSW using Smartways’ technology and phone calls.
- Allocate jobs in a timely, efficient and equitable manner in order to meet delivery KPIs.
- Respond to calls from the Customer Service teaM/Function regarding queries/service disruptions in a timely manner.
- Contribute towards non-conformance investigations.
- Ensure collection and cut-off times for road and air line hauls are met daily.
- Assist fleet and dispatch team with consolidation/de-consolidation of freight at peak periods throughout the day.
- Compliance with Australian chain of responsibility (CoR) laws.
- Monitoring driver GPS trackers.
- Evaluate next-day volumes and plan accordingly.
**Essential for the role**:
- Experience working in a similar role (preferably with a national courier company).
- Strong communication skills and a pleasant phone manner.
- Work well within a team environment to achieve a common goal.
- Good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Pro-active approach to the task at hand (including providing updates internally and externally)
- Excellent planning skills and a strong geographical knowledge of Sydney metro and surrounding areas.
- Familiarity with Chain of Responsibility laws.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
**Desirables for the role**:
- Experience working with healthcare/cold-chain freight.
- Experience with the regulations around storage, transport and handling of dangerous goods via air & road.
- Forklift licence.
