Kids Coding Teacher
**About Us**
At Coastal Learning Hub, we’re not just helping kids get ahead in school—we’re giving them the tools to create the future. Our **Coding Clubs** and holiday programs help young people learn to build games, websites, apps, and even mods for their favourite games. We teach real skills in a fun, relaxed environment where students feel free to explore their ideas and creativity.
**The Role**
We’re looking for a friendly and confident **Coding Teacher** who loves working with kids and teens. You’ll run small-group coding sessions (both term-based and holiday workshops) and support students as they learn everything from block coding to Python, JavaScript, web development, robotics, and game design—depending on your skillset.
You don’t need to be a professional software developer. What matters most is that you know how to code **and** how to explain things clearly in a fun, encouraging way.
**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Teach coding skills to students aged 5-18 in a fun, engaging way.
- Lead small-group sessions, coding clubs, or project-based workshops.
- Help students with their own ideas—whether it’s a game, website, mod, or robot.
- Adapt your teaching style based on age and experience level.
- Create a supportive space where students feel confident asking questions and trying new things.
- Support or design lesson content based on your interests and experience.
**What We’re Looking For**
- **Confident with code**: Comfortable with languages like Scratch, Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, or similar.
- **Great with kids and teens**: You can build rapport quickly and make learning feel fun.
- **Clear communicator**: You can explain technical concepts in a way that actually makes sense.
- **Creative & adaptable**: You enjoy helping kids run with their ideas and guiding them through problems.
- **Reliable and organised**: You show up ready and keep things running smoothly.
**Bonus Points For**
- Experience teaching or working with young people.
- Background in computer science, game dev, IT, or related field.
- Familiarity with Unity, Roblox Studio, Arduino, or other platforms.
- A current NSW Working With Children Check (or willingness to get one).
**Why Work With Us?**
- Casual, creative environment with lots of freedom to teach your way.
- Supportive team and flexible hours around uni or other commitments.
- Opportunity to share your interests—whether it's games, AI, modding, or web dev.
- A real chance to inspire the next generation of creators.
**Job Type**: Casual
Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
Expected hours: 3 - 12 per week
Work Authorisation:
- Australia (required)
Work Location: In person
