Transformer Specialist

Due to a consistent and steady rate of company growth; the result of existing and newly awarded work. We have a requirement for a Transformer Specialist to join our Malaga office in Perth, on a Full-Time basis.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate extensive experience with transformer servicing, fault finding, analysis & technical report writing. As well as rectification works on small to large HV distribution transformers

Project management experience would be advantageous and applicants who also have a solid knowledge of rotating machines would be viewed favourably.

Responsibilities for this position will include, but not be limited to:

- Achieve the deliverables outlined in the 'transformer services' business plan.
- Act as the technical authority for 'transformer services' for internal/external stakeholders.
- Project manage all assigned projects including invoicing, approving timesheets, job costs etc.
- Preparation of estimates and detailed scopes of supply for rfq/rft.
- Prepare, plan and coordinate work schedules and activities for projects for work covering installation, testing, commissioning & maintenance of HV transformer installations.
- Prepare detailed technical reports with recommendations and arrange necessary actions.
- Interpretation of analytical data and final review and sign off of all technical documentation.
- Ensure ongoing development of standard work procedures, test reports etc.
- Ensure client's requirements are met and expectations exceeded.
- Internal liaison with business development team.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Powertech clients.
- Professionally execute all assigned projects from start to finish.
- Leadership and management of 'transformer services' technical staff.
- Work in remote areas within the state, offshore and interstate as required.

**Experience, skills and qualifications**:

- In order to comply with the Government Directions and/or Client Site requirements, workers will be required to show evidence of having had their COVID-19 vaccines
- Degree qualified professional electrical engineer (bachelor) recognised by engineers Australia or electrical trade (current fitter/mechanic electrical license) only.
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in HV distribution transformers.
- Extensive knowledge of transformer service requirements
- Demonstrated supervisory and/or project management skills.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
- Experienced in building and maintaining strong relationships with all stakeholders.
