The Engineering Manager will define, develop, maintain and continuously improve the technical installations and maintenance processes at Skretting Australia covering our Westbury and Cambridge produciton locations and other offsite infastructure.

This position will provide the basis for compliance with all legislative, corporate and local requirements, licenses, external certifications and operational requirements of Skretting Australia.

**Asset management**:

- Oversee the development and implementation of manufacturing infastructure to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency.
- Responsible for the development of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process.
- Maintain the Engineering System for all installations, buildings and grounds; covering requirements and specifications.
- Establish Preventive Maintenance Plan requirements for all assets.
- Maintain Critical Spare Part requirements through regular risk assessments or new / modified installations.
- Oversee all technical changes within manufacturing from planning to fulfillment, review and approve production design and changes.
- Establishment of initial external technical supplier service level agreements. (SLA’s)
- Design and implement methods and processes in manufacturing to establish standard operations and improve availability.
- Oversee all automation changes to ensure safe uninterrupted operations are maintained.
- Prepares the Asset Management Plan and associated budgets for the mid and long term, taking into account the total cost of ownership across the entire lifecycle of the assets
- Monitors obsolescence and risk associated to it to take mitigating action plan

**Technical Projects**:

- Directs the design and development of CAPEX projects, acts as project owner or project manager and develops a rolling 5 year CAPEX master plan.
- Participates in assigned installation and/or process improvement projects, within the project management guidelines.

**Leadership and people management**:

- Provides leadership to his / her area in production and M&R (i.e. setting individual objectives, reviewing performance and providing ongoing feedback so that all reports are aware of what they are required to achieve and how they are performing against their objectives
- Manages and coaches a team of professionals, motivates employees through sincere and concrete feedback and take appropriate action when needed, stimulate team cooperation and mobility and ensure that managers and staff are willing to and capable of realising the set objectives.

**Maintenance management**:

- Plans, prioritises, schedules, and manages all maintenance activities (planned maintenance programmes, shut-downs, or emergency repairs) across both Skretting Australia facilities to rectify break-downs and malfunctions and minimise business disruptions.
- Assesses the nature of the maintenance, and study of the drawings and manuals, ensures the availability of necessary materials, parts and tools and ensures the planning of the execution with relevant departments

**Troubleshooting**:

- Troubleshoots any mechanical, electrical and technical control of production equipment, utility equipment, and refrigerating systems and in offices and warehouses, through received messages, such that the work in terms of technology and safety can be resumed and any stagnation is limited to a min mum.
- Locates the cause of the disturbance, determines whether mechanics of third parties must be hired, assesses the nature and extent of faults and determines whether immediate repair is necessary and possible. If needed ensures immediate (emergency) repairs are executed

**Preventive / planned maintenance**:

- Prepares preventive maintenance schedules and carries out inspections in the context of preventive and corrective maintenance / overhaul, so that the technical underperforming conditions are timely identified and corrective actions can be taken
- Assesses the state of maintenance and reports of serious findings to the production management; directly repairs (impending) defects if possible
- Ensures the planning and execution of corrective maintenance arising from the inspections, at scheduled times

**Continuous improvement**:

- Researches, evaluates, and recommends new equipment, tools and processes in maintenance and production in order to enhance the capabilities of production and / or maintenance.
- Monitor the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimise resources, prioritise spending, and achieve timeliness, reliability, and safety standards.
- Roll out best practices of Maintenance with strong input to the site masterplan process

**HSEQ Systems**
- Ensure all management system requirements (HSEQ) are within the Engineering and Maintenance systems.

**Compliance**:

- Ensures compliance with all operating, safety, quality, risk and health regulations.
