Kitchen Hand

A Kitchen Hand provides support to kitchen in soups/ snacks, washing, cleanliness following all hygiene and food safety standards.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

General Cleaning:
1. Clean all prep benches & floors.

2. Flat packing of cardboard boxes & disposal in garbage area.

3. Follows daily cleaning schedule duties as directed from supervisors.

4. Ensure that kitchen is always clean and tidy by cleaning after own.

Food Preparation

1. Follow direction towards any general preparation such as noodles and rice as required.

2. Always keep preps (especially meats) in the correct temperature zone in fridges or cool rooms when finished or if it is getting busy.

DURING SERVICE 1. Prepares soups, snacks and other customer orders in a neat, accurate and timely manner.

2. Checks products in line and restocks them.

3. Wash all dishes including crockery, cutlery, dishes, pots etc in a timely and proper manner.

CLOSING TIME 1. Wash all crockery, pots, pans, kitchen utensils & cutlery and put them in their proper place.

2. Empty dishwasher & clean as per instructions.

3. Sweep & mop kitchen floors removing all food scrapes.

4. Remove all rubbish to outside bins or garbage area...no bag should be left inside the restaurant.

5. Clean all mops and brooms after use.

6. Leave kitchen and restaurant in a clean and tidy manner ensuring it is dry and has no food scrapes.

OTHER DUTIES 1. Fill dishwasher & add correct dishwashing powder & rinse aid.

2. Always follow direction of immediate supervisor checking with them when a particular task is finished.
