Swimable is a boutique swimming school located within St Mary’s College in St Kilda East and operating in a modern 25m pool. The culture is welcoming with friendly customers and staff. Lessons are available every day; after school Monday-Friday and in the morning on both Saturday and Sunday.

**Role**

The Assistant Head Swimming Instructor is responsible for helping the Head Swimming Instructor in managing our Learn to Swim program and maintaining positive relationships with the families, students and schools in the local community. This position is responsible for assisting the Head Swimming Instructor in leading the team of swimming teachers, pool deck and office staff.

As an Assistant Head Swimming Instructor you are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the swimming school. You will work with the Head Swimming Instructor to mentor and lead our team with the aim of developing a strong culture of customer service excellence.

Key responsibilities:
Assisting the Head Swimming Instructor with all the tasks including but not limited to:

- Delivering the Swimming Program with efficient scheduling of classes
- Recruitment and management of teaching and pool deck staff
- Coaching and training of teaching and pool deck staff
- Management of and meeting customer expectations regarding students’ progress
- Office management utilising swimming expertise to promote learn to swim participation and ensure customers are advised appropriately about students’ current level and progression
- Acting Head Swimming Instructor when the Head Swimming Instructor is not on duty

**Required experience**:
1. Minimum of 2 years swimming teaching experience plus an extensive history of coaching children

**Qualifications**:
1. Current AUSTSWIM/SCTA Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety License

2. Current AUSTSWIM Assessor

3. Certificate 2 in Sport Coaching (or higher)

4. Teacher of Infants Aquatics (AUSTSWIM /SCTA)

5. Current AUSTSWIM Teacher of Competitive Strokes (desirable, not essential)

6. Current AUSTSWIM Teacher of Access and Inclusion (desirable, not essential)

7. Current Working With Children Check

8. First Aid

9. CPR

10. Minimum 3 years customer service experience
