Experienced Cropping Farmhand

Acland Pastoral Company (APC), a member of New Hope Group, is a mixed farming enterprise based at Acland, within close proximity to Toowoomba. The company manages over 9,000 hectares of land, including 1,400 hectares of dry land cropping and 200 hectares of irrigated cropping, producing predominately wheat, barley and sorghum with a modern fleet of equipment fitted with greenstar GPS. The cattle herd consists of ~1,100 breeders that provide weaners for our cattle backgrounding operation.

**What you need to be successful in this role**
- Be proactive and have a passion for broadacre crop production
- Experience in similar role
- Sound mechanical knowledge
- Have well developed written and verbal communication skills
- Be able to participate as a member of the team and to contribute to the overall achievement of the companies objectives
- Greenstar or similar GPS experience
- Cattle handling experience desired but not essential
- Current drivers licence (HR licence would be advantageous)

**Responsibilities**
- Assist with all machinery operations for crop production
- Management and maintenance of irrigation systems (centre pivot)
- Servicing and maintenance of farm plant and equipment
- Report to and liaise with farm manager
- Work safely in accordance with WHS and Environment management plan
- Assist in cattle mustering and yard work when needed
- General farm maintenance duties as required
