**About the Role**

This position is responsible for providing specific pastoral care services to the
residents of Southern Cross Care at our Joseph Cooke House in Shelley. This is a part-time role.

**We’ll also be asking you to:

- **
- Familiarise yourself with the policy and procedures of Pastoral Care at Southern Cross Care and work in accordance with those policies and procedures
- Maintain appropriate boundaries as You will not to providing nursing or personal care to the residents.
- Respect and maintain confidentiality of the facility and residents
- Record visits and submit monthly statistical returns to your manager.

**About You**

Previous experience working as a Pastoral Carer in an Aged Care setting is preferred. Preferred background in counselling, social work, pastoral care, church ministry.

- Have developed skills in empathy, sensitivity and patience when working with residents
- Respect the right of residents to confidentiality and privacy
- Have well-developed interpersonal skills to communicate effectively on all levels both written and verbal.
- Have the ability to work harmoniously with people from a diverse range of social, economic, cultural and religious backgrounds.
