Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

**MCV**
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
This role is part of the Specialist Courts and Court Support Services program within the Magistrates' Court. Specialist Courts provides a range of initiatives to assist accused persons and others involved in the court system, who are experiencing issues of social or cultural disadvantage, including substance abuse, disability, mental illness, family violence or cognitive impairment. These initiatives include the Court Integrated Services Program (CISP), the Assessment and Referral Court (ARC), CISP Remand and Outreach Pilot (CROP), the Criminal Justice Diversion Program, the Drug Court of Victoria and Family Violence Programs and Initiatives. In addressing pre-existing issues that contribute to offending and other anti-social behaviours, these initiatives aim to reduce reoffending.
**About the Role**
In this role, you will be required to:
- Provide advanced case management to accused persons with a range of complex needs, with particular focus on supporting clients with complex disability and mental health support needs.
- Provide clinical and program advice to judiciary and other key stakeholders in ARC List and CISP hearings through regular Court attendance
- Access, coordinate and monitor the delivery of a range of treatments and supports for clients, including housing, alcohol/drug treatment, family violence interventions and mental health treatment.
- Identify client risks and develop risk management and/or harm minimisation strategies in relation to these risks.
- Provide support to clients in a way that is responsive to and inclusive of their diverse needs and backgrounds.
- Support the identification and implementation of practice improvements that will enhance the quality of the program's response to clients with complex mental health and disability support needs.
- Prepare and present written court reports and provide advice or evidence to the Court, as required.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to case managers in relation to their case management of clients.
- Liaise, consult and negotiate with the judiciary, legal profession and court staff in relation to the management of clients within the court process and provide advice regarding the availability of appropriate services and programs.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current treatment and support options for clients with complex mental health and disability support needs.
- Actively reflect upon own practice and identify and participate in professional development opportunities.
**About You**
Do you have:
- extensive experience in the assessment and case management of clients with complex mental health and/or disability support needs.
- experience in mentoring or coaching health and/or social welfare staff.
- detailed knowledge of the mental health and/or disability service system and demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- sound knowledge of evidenced informed practice models and frameworks for working with clients with complex family violence, disability, mental health and/or AOD needs, including motivational interviewing techniques.
