The National Partnership on Essential Vaccines is an agreement between the Commonwealth of Australia and the states and territories, which aims ‘to protect the Australian public from the spread of vaccine preventable diseases through the cost-effective and efficient delivery of immunisation programs under the National Immunisation Program.' As part of this agreement, the Commonwealth is responsible for the procurement of vaccines while states and territories are responsible for vaccine distribution and support for immunisation providers. States and territories are also responsible for ensuring high vaccination uptake as set out by specific benchmarks in the agreement, supporting individuals' access to immunisation services and coordinating local monitoring and surveillance of adverse events following immunisation.
Reporting to the Senior Technical Specialist/Senior Manager
- Immunisation, the Immunisation Operations & Systems Manager is part of the Immunisation Unit and oversees the Operations & Systems team that is responsible for vaccine logistics and distribution according to the National Immunisation Program and state funded programs, contract management, development and utilisation of technology and systems and analysis of vaccination data to identify and actively manage emerging issues and areas of risk impacting on delivery of immunisation programs.

- An experienced leader with a strong understanding of health services and systems, particularly in the field of immunisation?
- Have an understanding of how to inform and improve data-driven systems and operations?
- Have experience in procurement and contract management?
**Accountabilities**:
- Managing the day-to-day activities associated with stakeholder management, procurement, contract management, forecasting, receipting, warehousing and distribution of vaccines for the National Immunisation Program and state-funded vaccine programs.
- Identify new and emerging issues in the area of immunisation and provide high level expert advice on the department's response including instigating and leading critical immunisation specific projects that develop and review program policies, professional standards and operating practices to enhance service delivery and budget efficiency.
- Provide leadership, guidance and authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed, comprehensive reports, ministerial briefs, Cabinet and agency submissions on complex matters.
- Support governance mechanisms to monitor and control security/access to data (including onboarding and offboarding processes) for departmental IT digital platforms
- Develop and manage metrics and reports to measure progress with Data Governance and Data Quality initiatives.
- Keep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.
- Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
