Carer’s Network are seeking a **MALE** Support Worker, with complex disability experience within the mental health space, to join our team for approximately 10-15 hours per week, to support three of our NDIS clients across Melbourne's southeast suburbs.

**About you**:
Reliable, patient, kind and encouraging, with a vision that all young people with a mental health diagnosis should be empowered to live with pride and without fear of discrimination within their community.
- A comprehensive understanding of disabilities and mental health issues and the challenges individuals face.
- Ability to effectively manage and deescalate heightened behaviours.
- Experience and understanding of the LGBTQI+ community.
- Have lived experience and a deep understanding of working with young people that require assistance with their executive functioning.
- Are passionate about celebrating individuals' uniqueness.
- Are adaptable and flexible to situational change.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide person-centered care and support to individuals with complex mental health needs.
- Offer emotional support and guidance to clients.
- Build professional relationships with clients to understand personal life goals, independent abilities, and opportunities.
- Assisting clients to attend appointments, community participation, social outings and recreational activities that meet their interests and goals.
- To support and empower clients to achieve the things that matter most to them.
- Aim to increase a person’s quality of life.
- Certificate III or IV in Disability, Mental Health, Community Care or equivalent (essential)
- Australian Driver Licence (essential)
- Comprehensive car insurance (essential or willing to obtain)
- Covid
- 19 proof of vaccination + booster (essential or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential or willing to obtain)
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (essential or willing to obtain)
- First Aid Certification & CPR (essential or willing to obtain)

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: From $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 15 per week

**Benefits**:

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

Supplementary Pay:
