The Doorways program provides person centred care to community members experiencing financial or other forms of hardship through the provision of financial and material emergency relief. Case management is provided at some of the Doorways sites to engage people through early intervention as well as address long term disadvantage to break the cycle of poverty and alleviate financial hardship. Our practitioners are strength based and trauma informed in their practice to build individual capacity, resilience and wellbeing.

Why this role matters

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a values-driven and proactive Receptionist, to provide reception and administration support to the Doorways service on site by being the first point of contact for community members seeking assistance. This role is to provide a welcoming experience for community members attending the site, responding to incoming calls, assisting with general enquiries or directing to other appropriate services and providing information where relevant.

The role you could play
- Respond positively and supportively to people and provide a welcoming, empathetic and helpful environment
- Ensure the provision of high quality, effective, and responsive service to those who present in person or via incoming phones calls, primarily by providing access to the service thru appointments
- Liaise with State Administrator on matters of quality improvement, and consistency with processes and procedures
- Ensure compliance with ER card processes at all times, including ordering and use
- Reconcile ER gift cards, and inform the State Administrator if discrepancies are identified, for assistance to rectify
- Ensure telephone is answered in a professional manner and manage all general administration tasks and activities accurately

This is a full-time permanent position, based at Balga.

What we’re looking for
- Qualification in office management or demonstrated experience in the provision of Reception and Telephonist services
- Experience in administration, use of Microsoft Word and Excel and customer service preferred
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to provide proof of Eligibility to Work in Australia
