**HSE Advisor**
UGL has recently been awarded a Lithium Construction Project in the South-West region of WA. Reporting to the HSSE Manager, we have an exciting opportunity for a
**HSE Advisor** to join our team. This will be offered on a 5/2 Monday-Friday roster for local Bunbury residents or a 3/1 roster for DIDO employees with accommodation provided.
The position provides advice, assistance, guidance, and support to project line management on all safety, health and environmental issues relevant to the project.
- This position also assists with the induction of new staff to the Site, and the ongoing training of Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and systems.
**About the role**
- Under direction of the Site Operations Manager assist in preparation of all ‘Site’ HSSE Safety documentation and reporting;
- Providing advice and support to the Site Operations Manager for the implementation and auditing of the Safety, Health and Environment Management Plans and processes;
- Maintaining accountability of line management personnel (Site Operations Manager to the Team Members) for Safety Health and Environmental functions;
- Maintaining safety education and awareness levels that support effective Safety management;
- Maintaining reporting functions with the Manager Safety Health and Environment;
- Conducting appropriate site induction training for all ‘Site’ and subcontractor personnel;
- Providing assistance to supervision and workers in risk identification and job hazard analysis;
- Reporting all safety non-compliance to the Site Operations Manager;
- Facilitating the Site Safety Committee (and agenda), toolbox meeting topics and involvement of Safety and Health Representatives;
- Maintains and reports safety performance statistics;
- Identifies needs for safety training and coordinates sessions/courses for site personnel;
- Monitoring compliance to specified procedures, safe work standards and statutory requirements;
- Implementing and communicating of compliance requirements for the ‘Site’ Safety Procedures and work standards/practices;
- Advising on all project related Safety, Health and Environmental issues;
- Reviewing project related incident reports for accuracy, satisfactory investigation and appropriate recommended actions;
- Reviewing all project activities, work practices and procedures for continuous improvement in safety health and environment aspects;
- Monitoring safety compliance through inspections and observations of the workplace;
- Establishing and maintaining the filing system for safety and related documentation;
- Accurate and timely reporting of incidents, man-hours, frequency rates, identifying trends and implementing corrective actions where necessary; Assessment of risks and hazards involved in tasks, and methods to manage the hazards in order to prevent incidents, injury and damage;
**About you**
- Certificate IV Occupational Health and Safety;
- Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessment (Desirable);
- Having achieved a satisfactory level of technical skills/knowledge in job-related areas; demonstrate ability to keep abreast of current developments and trends in area of expertise;
- Ability to manage and coordinate project teams accordingly, ensuring safe delivery of product in compliance with client and Company specifications;
- Experience within a similar role in the industrial / construction environment.
