**About the opportunity...**
This role is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for employees. The role will implement safety systems, policies and procedures compliant with relevant legislation and regulations. The role will promote a safety culture where everyone values safety and well-being and has a positive attitude to safety and safety performance. The role will collaborate closely with senior managers, managers, and employees, ensuring that employees are trained and aware of their obligations for themselves, their colleagues, direct reports and customers.
- Tertiary Qualifications in WHS, or a related field, or relevant proven experience.
- Experience in providing an expert high level advisory service in WHS matters.
- Experience in managing and resolving complex and sensitive WHS workplace issues.
- Experience in WHS risk assessment and hazard management particularly as it relates to the Aged Care sector.
- Experience in undertaking safety inspections and providing action plans to remedy as required.
- Experience in providing WHS education including prevention and awareness strategies.
- Highly self-motivated with the ability to establish credibility and deliver high quality outcomes.
- Advanced verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate, influence and motivate individuals.
- Analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills with an ability to explore new and innovative ways for continuous improvement.
- Be self-motivated with the ability to prioritise workload and meet set timelines.
- Ability to be resilient, innovative, flexible and readily accommodate change.
- Thrive working within a team environment.
You must be willing to obtain a National Police Certificate before commencing employment as well as a functional assessment.
