Retail Buyer

**About the Role**:
We are looking for an experienced Retail Buyer to spearhead our E-Commerce activities. This pivotal role is crucial to our growth strategy, as you'll be responsible for curating and managing our online product offerings to meet customer demands and market trends. Your expertise will drive our online sales, enhance customer satisfaction, and maximise profitability.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Market Analysis**:

- Monitor sales data, stock levels, and market trends to anticipate consumer preferences for bicycles and accessories.
- Conduct research on trade, manufacturers, and industry developments to stay updated on changing market conditions.
- **Purchasing and Negotiations**:

- Negotiate purchasing terms, promotional deals, and supply arrangements with suppliers to maximise profitability.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure consistent supply and favourable terms.
- **Strategic Planning**:

- Collaborate with management to design seasonal purchasing plans and long-term product strategies.
- Determine the quantity, style, and quality of bicycles and accessories to be purchased in line with budgetary and seasonal requirements.
- **Promotional Strategies**:

- Assist with marketing, and promotional strategies for bicycles and accessories.
- Develop and oversee special offers and campaigns to drive customer engagement and sales.
- **Stock and Catalogue Management**:

- Ensure product descriptions, specifications, and pricing on the website are accurate and up-to-date.
- Coordinate stock transfers between the warehouse and the workshop for ex-demo products and manage inventory levels effectively.

**About You**:
**Relevant Skills**:

- Formal education in a relevant area such as trade, business, marketing etc desirable but not essential.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and market trends.
- Proven negotiation skills and experience in vendor and supplier management.
- Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and tools.
- Excellent communication and planning capabilities.
- Proficiency in inventory management and forecasting.
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

**Relevant Experience**:

- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in retail buying, preferably within the bicycle or sporting goods industry.
- Experience in an e-commerce environment is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of bicycle products and accessories is a plus.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing purchasing strategies.
