We are now recruiting for a **Teacher In Charge **on a **permanent full-time basis **to join our dedicated and supportive multi-disciplinary team at the **YMCA Vocational School Moreton Bay Junior Campus **located in **Northlakes, QLD.**
**The ideal applicant **will be looking for a challenge, have a passion for working with young people, a strong interest in the development of the holistic person, a personal interest in health and fitness, spirituality, personal well-being and values and ongoing professional development.
- You will have experience and/or interest in working within a trauma informed framework.
**The Teacher-in-charge will primarily support the Head of School to ensure the educational delivery is**:
- Compliant with legislative requirements
- Offering youth an individualised and modified education of the highest standards.
- Using a therapeutic approach to support student needs and vocational aspirations.
- Achieving educational, wellbeing and vocational targets/objectives.
This position will carry a student facing teaching load as well as normal operational leadership duties and responsibilities of a Campus as/when directed by the Head of School, including but not limited to the following tasks:
- Run briefs/debriefs, oversee rosters, parades; manage staff / volunteers, sign risk assessments
- Teach lessons as per the Campus timetable
- Promote best practice standards and model professional dialogue for Y7-12 teachers
- Host new student interviews/induction/orientation; h. Oversee student engagement (behaviour management) and case management processes;
- Maintain a healthy culture by actively supporting Intentional Professional Practice initiatives, policies and procedures.
**Selection Criteria**
To be successful in the role, you will be able to meet the following criteria:
- Hold a relevant Bachelor degree, current Queensland Teacher Registration, First Aid Certificate and CPR Qualifications;
- Be able to demonstrate practical experience teaching and supporting young people and the development of positive student relationships;
- Work successfully in a small team and within the schools’ philosophy & ethos to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational outcomes.
