The primary purpose of the Archivist role is to undertake a range of archival duties to enhance the discoverability of, and access to, paper-based and born-digital records in the collection.

**As the Archivist, you may**:

- undertake simple archival reference and research activities using the QSA archival management system
- participate in projects to enhance understanding and use of the QSA collection through education services, public programming, and the development of finding aids and guides
- undertake simple arrangement and description activities, including researching the provenance and context of archival public records
- under supervision, liaise with government agencies regarding records appraisal and disposal schedules and assigning restricted access periods for records in the collection
- maintain archival practices and procedures in line with national and international standards and best practice, including the Australian Series System - prepare simple reports, presentations, correspondence and other documents as required
