**About Victory Through Ability** Victory Through Ability (VTA) is a mission-driven organisation created by people with disabilities, for people with disabilities. Our aim is to transform how disability services are delivered in Australia. Although VTA was established only 1.5 years ago, we have expanded rapidly and now provide services across all states and territories of Australia. We are also excited to announce that we now offer support work services to our Sydney clients **About the Role** We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to take on a dual role as a **Disability Employment Consultant** and **Support Worker**. This casual position offers approximately **15 to 20 hours per week**, with the potential to transition into a full-time role as our organisation continues to grow. The role involves a combination of remote and in-person appointments. **Key Responsibilities** **Employment Consultant Duties**: - Conduct regular appointments with clients in person, over the phone, or via video consultation. - Assist clients in identifying career paths that align with their unique skills and interests. - Contact employers to develop customised job opportunities for clients. - Support clients in obtaining reasonable adjustments in the workplace. - Provide in-person support to clients who are new to the workforce or require assistance adapting to their roles. **Support Work Duties**: - Assist clients with general household tasks, such as cooking, organising cupboards, folding laundry, or using their computer. - Transport clients to appointments, activities, or events. - Accompany clients to events or activities, if requested. **Important Note**: We do not provide support work services to clients with high needs or those requiring assistance with personal care. This will not be a component of your role. **Required Skills and Experience** - Previous experience as an **NDIS Support Worker** or in a similar role. - A proactive, "can-do" attitude, with the ability to step outside your comfort zone when necessary. - Strong time management and organisational skills. - Exceptional attention to detail, especially in report writing and documentation. - Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds. - A genuine passion for making a positive difference in people’s lives. - **Unrestricted Class C driver’s licence** and access to a reliable, clean, and safe vehicle (you may be required to transport clients). - A dedicated, quiet home workspace with a reliable laptop, phone, and high-speed internet connection. **Preferred (Highly Regarded but Not Required)** - Previous experience in **Disability Employment Services** or recruitment. - Current **First Aid and CPR certifications**. - **Working with Children Check** (or willingness to obtain). - **National Police Check** (or willingness to obtain). - Certificate III in **Individual Support - Disability** (or similar). **How to Apply** In your cover letter, please include: - Why you want to work at Victory Through Ability. - What you believe you can bring to this role. - How you meet the above selection criteria. **People with lived experience with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.** **Job Type**: Casual Pay: $26.50 - $49.40 per hour Expected hours: 15 - 20 per week **Benefits**: - Work from home Work Location: In person Expected Start Date: 03/02/2025
