**Background**
- Aintree Primary School is located on 3.5 hectares of land at 11 Timbertop Parade, Aintree 3336 (Local Government Area of Melton). The school opened for enrolments in F-6 year levels in Term 1, 2021. The school has a current enrolment of 1000 which will continue to increase with growth expected over the next 4-5 years.
- The school belongs to the successful Brimbank/Melton Network of Schools which includes two other new Government schools alongside well-established and thriving schools across primary, secondary, Specialist, P-9 and Senior Secondary.
- There is a Children and Community Hub adjacent to the school which houses Kindergarten, Maternal and Child Health and community facilities. Together Aintree Primary School and the Hub can help local children make a smooth transition from pre-school and reduce the number of drop-offs for some parents with kinder and school-aged children.

**Role**:
- Leading teachers will be highly skilled classroom practitioners and undertake leadership and management roles commensurate with their salary range. The role of leading teachers is to improve the skill, knowledge and performance of the teaching workforce in a school or group of schools and to improve the curriculum program of a school.
- Typically, leading teachers are responsible for coordinating a number of staff to achieve improvements in teaching and learning which may involve the coordination and professional support of colleagues through modelling, collaborating and coaching and using processes that develop knowledge, practice and professional engagement in others.
- Leading teachers are expected to lead and manage a significant area or function within the school with a high degree of independence to ensure the effective development, provision and evaluation of the school's education program.
