Modern Star is seeking an enthusiastic team member to join its manufacturing plant Educational Vantage in Melbourne’s eastern suburb - Bayswater. Educational Vantage is a dynamic business that has been manufacturing water-based paint and dough for the educational and retail sectors for over 30 years.

The business is currently seeking a forklift operator (high-reach and counterbalance) to manage its warehouse operations. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Loading and unloading of goods on trucks with a forklift.
- Receiving and checking orders for incoming goods.
- Preparing outward orders (using a pallet wrapping machine and filling packing lists)
- Moving, stacking and stocktaking packaging and raw materials in the warehouse.
- Maintain housekeeping within the warehouse.
- Other duties as requested by the manager or supervisor.

The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols and effective teamwork.
- Forklift experience and hold a current forklift license.
- Steel capped footwear and hi-vis clothing.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Adherence to Workplace Health & Safety guidelines and legislation.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to meet production targets.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
- Two contactable references from previous employment positions.

Shift times and pay rate:

- Day Shift
- Monday - Friday, 6 am to 2.30 pm. 38 hours per week (casual with potential for permanent employment).
- Pay rate: $32.25 per hour.
- Must be available Monday to Friday (inclusive).
