- ** We are seeking a Social Support Group Facilitator **to work in collaboration and to deliver **culturally appropriate activities to older persons**

**The role is permanent part time (flexible hours negotiable)**

**The successful incumbent will be based at either**

**the Bentleigh East, Carrum Downs or Narre Warren Office.**

**The Social Support facilitator will organise activities**

**in either **Frankston, Rye or the City of Casey.**

**$30.46 - $33.23 per hour (depending on experience)**

**About the role...**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Certificate III qualified Social Support Facilitator to make a valuable contribution in the life of elders from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Backgrounds.

The Social Group Facilitator will facilitate group activities, including assisting frail, older people to participate in community life and feel socially included through structured, group-based activities that develop, maintain or support independent living and social interaction.

**About you...**

You will have a flexible, caring, patient attitude and an ability to work in a professional and proficient manner. A positive and innovate approach to the provision of aged care and demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional and staff development.

**Qualifications and Experience**- Certificate III in Aged Care required
- Level 2 First Aid and CPR
- Victorian Drivers Licence and willingness to drive a 12 seater bus preferred but not essential.

**Skills & Experience**- A knowledge of Community Aged Care services preferred
- The ability to work with frail and/or dementia clients and their families
- The ability to work in a team
- The ability to work in a culturally sensitive manner with an ethno-specific environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional and staff development
- A positive and innovate approach to the provision of aged care
- The ability or willingness to speak or learn another language with an understanding of other cultures preferred
- Demonstrated experience in driving 12 seater buses preferred but not essential
- Experience in organising group activities and excursion for seniors desirable

**A police check with no disclosable outcome, medicare evidence of current flu vaccination and full COVID-19 vaccination, including dose 3 is required by MiCare for this position.**
